Join the growing list of partners
By joining the Charter of Compassion Australia as a partner organisation, your group will co-create a state of compassion with concentric and like-minded organisations. By focusing on your good work along with the good work of other partner organisations, and in the spirit of collaboration and cooperation together with city officials, a City of Compassion will be affirmed and lived out.
City of Compassion partner and working groups
One or more individuals from your organisation will represent your group at the Charter of Compassion Australia working group. The working group identifies the good work happening in your city and commits to continue working towards the sustainable and lasting change that has to occur in order to maintain a City of Compassion status. The working group determines those guidelines and length of the commitment.
The term must be at least 3 years and is reasonably 10 years. Working group members convene meetings and engage one another in each group’s activities or co-create new events. New events or programs are not necessary but may emerge organically. It’s essential that you deepen your work, rather than create more of it.
The working group is present to publicly affirm the city as a City of Compassion.
Participating in the Compassion Games is also highly encouraged to get broad attention for your city. Partner organisations are listed on the Charter for Compassion Australia website and the Charter for Compassion International site.
Join the monthly partner conference calls
Beginning early 2016, we will host monthly partner calls inviting you all to come together to promote your work, know fellow partners, share with us ideas that would help both the Charter and Charter for Compassion Australia as a whole, and explore how together we can bring more compassion to our state and the world. Stay tuned for more details.
List your organisation’s purpose on the Charter for Compassion Australia website
Please email us your organisation’s public contact information and a 150-word description of your purpose, vision and mission. Please share briefly your organisation’s strengths as well as key issues you are working on and any programs you would like us to know about. The idea is to share with anyone visiting our site the good works of your organisation and to know how to contact you.
Think globally, act locally
Because we are part of the international Charter for Compassion network, your efforts contribute to the global cause to The Charter’s goal to “urgently make compassion a clear luminous force in our polarised world”. We will make sure to keep you updated on highlights, resources and tools, and upcoming Charter for Compassion global webinars. In the same way, we will be sharing with the world your work, so please keep us posted as well!
We promote your events and successes
We would like to feature your organisation in a monthly series “spotlight”. Using your organisation’s description (that we hope you send us right away) we will feature a different partner each month, and your information will continue to be displayed on the site year-round. In addition, please send us your news, events, milestones and photos so we can further promote your work and celebrate you. You can also post to our Charter of Compassion Australia Facebook page.
Be part of statewide leadership
The Charter for Compassion board is a growing team of passionate volunteers. If you’d like to learn more about being involved or would like to offer your skills to specific projects, contact us. We would love to learn more about your vision.
We encourage your entire team to subscribe and share with us all your good news. Please let us know if you are not getting them.
